Legacy Application Modernization

Legacy systems run your business — and slow it down. We modernize them without big-bang rewrites that fail. Strangler patterns, careful migrations, and zero unplanned downtime.

Outcomes, not just deliverables.

Lower maintenance cost

Replace expensive legacy licenses, retire end-of-life platforms, and reduce ops burden.

Faster feature delivery

Modern stacks let your team ship in days instead of months.

Reduced security risk

Eliminate unsupported software, outdated dependencies, and known CVEs.

Cloud-ready architecture

Lift-and-shift or rebuild — either way, you end up with infrastructure that scales elastically.

A complete legacy application modernization engagement.

/ 01

Legacy Assessment

Inventory current systems, dependencies, integration points, and pain. Written report with risk-ranked recommendations.

/ 02

Modernization Strategy

Replace, re-platform, refactor, or rebuild — we recommend the right approach for each system based on risk and ROI.

/ 03

Incremental Migration

Strangler-pattern migrations that move functionality piece by piece while the legacy system keeps running.

/ 04

Data Migration & ETL

Safe, validated movement of legacy data — with reconciliation, rollback plans, and zero loss.

/ 05

API Wrapping

Modern APIs around legacy systems so new applications can integrate while you migrate underneath.

/ 06

Decommissioning

Plan and execute the safe shutdown of legacy systems once new ones are stable.

The tools we trust in production.

A clear path from kickoff to launch.

01

Discovery

Catalog the legacy estate, map dependencies, identify integration points, and rank systems by risk and ROI.

02

Design

Target architecture, migration sequence, rollback strategy, and data reconciliation plan.

03

Build

Incremental migration with the strangler pattern. Run old and new in parallel until cutover is safe.

04

Launch & Support

Cutover, monitoring, legacy decommissioning, and team training on the new stack.

Common questions.

We have a critical legacy system. Can you migrate it without downtime?
In most cases, yes — using the strangler pattern. We route traffic incrementally from the legacy system to the new one, with feature flags and the ability to roll back any percentage at any time. Total cutover happens only after the new system is proven.
Should we rewrite or refactor?
Refactor when the business logic still works and only the technology is outdated. Rewrite when the system also no longer fits the business. Our assessment will tell you which path makes sense — with cost and risk numbers for each.
How long does a typical modernization take?
Highly variable — 6 months for a single application, 2–3 years for a portfolio. We always break it into 90-day delivery cycles with measurable wins so you don't wait years for value.
What about our team that knows the legacy system?
Their knowledge is your biggest asset — they know what the system actually does, including the undocumented business rules. We pair them with our modernizers and turn them into champions of the new platform.
